Restoring tropical soils.
Removing carbon permanently.

InPlanet uses Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) in the tropics to permanently remove carbon and remineralize depleted soils across Brazil’s agricultural heartland.

Rising CO₂ and degrading soils are eroding food security and climate resilience
Agriculture is facing a dual challenge: atmospheric CO₂ continues to rise, while many of the world’s most important soils are losing the minerals and resilience they need to remain productive. The effectiveness of traditional methods is waning, and the development of new crop protection products is slowing down, becoming more costly and complex.

90%

Our mission is to restore tropical soils while permanently removing carbon
In Brazil’s warm and wet tropical conditions, ERW can work up to 10x faster than in temperate regions. By spreading finely crushed basalt across depleted pastures and crop-rotation lands, InPlanet accelerates a natural chemical reaction that:

Captures
CO₂
from the atmosphere and converts it into stable bicarbonates for permanent carbon storage.

Remineralizes depleted soils
by naturally balancing soil pH levels, and providing essential nutrients to foster healthier crops.

Increases crop resilience
by enhancing soil health and boosting crop resilience through natural processes, minimizing the need for synthetic fertilizers.
InPlanet is scaling Enhanced Rock Weathering across Brazil’s agricultural heartland
InPlanet combines Brazil’s geology, abundant basalt reserves, tropical soils, and extensive farming networks with proprietary science and technology.
Our technology backbone streamlines operations and enables InPlanet to build one of the world’s most scalable and verifiable Enhanced Rock Weathering platforms.
Farmer & Mine Matchmaking
We source basalt remineralizer residues from MAPA-approved local mines and apply them locally to minimize the carbon footprint.
Spreading & Logistics
We deploy basalt across tropical croplands, where warm, wet soils can accelerate weathering up to 10x faster than in temperate regions.
Proprietary Technology
Our monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) system ensures carbon removal is translated into high-integrity, certifiable credits.

Creating real impact for Brazilian farmers
Our projects are built to deliver more than carbon removal. By returning mineral-rich basalt to agricultural soils, InPlanet helps farmers improve soil conditions, reduce dependency on conventional inputs, and strengthen long-term agricultural resilience.

Setting the global standard for ERW
In December 2024, InPlanet became the first company globally to certify independently verified ERW carbon removal credits, proving that ERW can move from scientific promise to verified climate impact. The credits were verified by Isometric, delivered to Adyen, and facilitated by ClimeFi.
InPlanet's first credits received an A rating ex-post from BeZero Carbon, based on measured field data rather than forecasted activity, demonstrating the quality of the projects. InPlanet is building the evidence base for high-integrity carbon removal in the tropics, combining field deployment and real operations across Brazilian farmland.
Operating in Brazil’s Heartland
Brazil's warm, wet climate drives weathering reactions up to 10x faster than in temperate regions, and its nutrient-poor tropical soils are the kind that benefit most from silicate rocks, so every tonne spread delivers both carbon removal and agronomic uplift. With extensive farmland and basalt reserves vast enough to support gigatonne-scale carbon removal, no other geography offers this combination of speed, fit, and scale. Furthermore, Brazil is also the only country on Earth with structured legislation regulating rock powders as a soil input, with quality certified under MAPA, giving us a clear, defensible regulatory path.
Brazil combines the conditions Enhanced Rock Weathering needs to scale: tropical rainfall, warm temperatures, abundant basalt, large agricultural areas, and deep farming expertise. That makes Brazil one of the world’s most efficient places to deliver durable carbon removal with measurable benefits for soils and farmers.

Carbon Removal You Can Stand Behind
InPlanet provides Enhanced Rock Weathering credits with the highest integrity. We issued the first independently verified ERW credits, run Brazil's largest program (12,000+ hectares), and count Microsoft and Adyen as buyers. Every tonne is certified under Isometric's Enhanced Weathering Protocol, overseen by a Science Advisory Board, and permanently stored. Beyond carbon removal, your purchase restores tropical soils, reduces fertilizer dependence, and strengthens farmer livelihoods, creating durable climate impact with a compelling story.
First to certify
In January 2025, InPlanet and Isometric announced the first-ever delivery of verified carbon removal credits through Isometric.
Science-first by design
An independent Science Advisory Board of leading ERW academics, with every credit issued under Isometric's rigorous Enhanced Weathering Protocol.
Largest operations in Brazil
InPlanet operates the largest ERW program in Brazil, covering more than 12,000 hectares of farmland, roughly equivalent to the size of San Francisco.
Beyond Carbon
Every tonne also restores tropical soils, cuts fertilizer use, and supports farmer livelihoods.
